Another added: "We have [pancake day] but it's not really celebrated outside pancake shops. It's like any other holiday dedicated to mediocre food.

For those curious, Pancake Day/Shrive Tuesday/Fat Tuesday is the day before Lent begins – the 40 days that bring us to Easter.
